Ojai Valley School offer a range of courses, including 26 Advanced Placement (AP) and honors courses across the disciplines. All of Ojai Valley School’s courses are approved by the University of California. Our minimum graduation requirements for college recommendation are 18 units which include: 4 English, 3 Social Science, 3 Foreign Language, 3 Math, 3 Laboratory Science, 1 Visual or Performing Arts, and 1 Land & Climate.
Most OVS students go beyond the minimum requirements to take additional courses depending on their interests and their intended college majors. A student interested in medicine, for example, may elect to take additional science and math classes, while a student eager to attend a fine arts college may complete the minimum requirements for those subjects to make room for additional art classes, such as ceramics, photography or AP art.
Students work closely with Assistant Head of Upper Campus Laurel Colborn on crafting an individual schedule of classes that meets the graduation requirements, but also supports their interests and advances their educational goals.
