At OVS, competitive riders can participate in IEA shows, jumping and dressage clinics. Students in grades 4 to 12 may be asked to join the IEA teams.
Selection of IEA team members is done by the Equestrian Director on the following basis:
– Enrollment in the regular Equestrian Program
– Regular attendance and fulfillment of assigned duties
– Ability level and readiness for serious competition
– Academic standing (students with academic problems may not be able to spend the extra time required for these activities)
– Spirit, attitude, and cooperation with instructors
There are additional riding fees, which vary by grade level, as well as opportunities for shows and clinics throughout the year. The team member fee includes:
– Preferred school-horse assignment
– Weekly private/semi-private lessons during free periods or lunch
